Never Surrender is a Finalist in Romance Writers of Australia's Ruby Award

I am excited and thrilled to announce that my debut novel, Never Surrender, is a finalist in Romance Writers of Australia's Ruby Award for the Short Sexy category.  I am beyond thrilled to have achieved this.  I entered Never Surrender into the Ruby as a way of showing myself that I believed in the book that I'd worked hard to write. I decided to stop judging myself against others and finding myself lacking, and to honour myself for seeing the whole process through. I sat down at my computer and filled out the entry form, and then I just stared at it. Negativity reared its head. I ignored it and located the file for the book. Self-doubt started yelling really loudly as the file started to send. I ignored that too. When the notification came through that the file had been received by the competition co-ordinator, I felt so damn proud of myself. When I received the phone call to let me know that Never Surrender, had made the final cut, I was gobsmacked. And I cried. I believe I babbled incoherently, and the wonderful co-ordinator was kindness personified. Thank you, Annie. The final list for the Short Sexy Category is below. I want to congratulate the other finalists. To the readers who judged Never Surrender and found it worthy of this honour, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
