February 2025
First blog for the new year.

My year so far.
I’ve made a concentrated effort to post onto my rosiemiles Facebook every few days. And consistency does pay off. I’m growing my list of followers. It’s slow, but it’s moving in the right direction. I was hopeful that by January 25, I’d have my newsletter sorted, didn’t happen. For some reason, unknown to me, it disappeared. After hunting for months, it is now back (thanks Aditya Sunil webmaster) But, there are a few issues that need ironing out, and seeing as I want to run my newsletter from my website, it’s put me behind a tad, so hopefully by the end of February. Fingers and toes crossed.
Next Challenge
In my blog in November, I mentioned after having such a fabulous time at The Logan Bookfest, I put my hand up to participate in the Gold Coast Writers Association, Write and Sip evening at the Whisky Room Mudgeraba. The theme was based around Hallmark Christmas Movies. It was a moody, intimate venue. It was a great night. It was my first time speaking to a group and I got through. My nerves were stretched to the max. Every negative emotion was magnified in my head. But I faced my fears and did it. And didn’t get booed of stage. And a bonus, I even sold a copy of Never Surrender, and did some promotion for Her Aussie Protector, due for release in June this year.  All in all, a real fun learning curve. A big shout out to Tracey Rosen, who encouraged me. And Alison L Robson for her help in calming my nerves. I appreciate you both.  And I ask the question here, in your humble opinion, is the original Die Hard movie, a Christmas movie? Just curious.

Time Away:
Over Christmas and New year, I didn’t have much time away. A couple of huge curve ball derailed me, but my forever man and I are heading down the coast for some relaxing time away. The beach calms me. And trust me, I need to calm. I will put some photos up on my Rosie Miles Facebook page, and in next month’s blog.
IDEAS.
As discussed in my last blog post, people ask where I get my ideas from. My answer’s still the same. No clue. I can be looking out the window see a woman sitting in the gutter, looking distressed, and I go into, I wonder why she’s upset. Has she been hurt? Has she lost all her possessions? Has she lost someone she loves? I wonder where she’s from? Or I see two people one inside a car, one outside. The person outside passes the one inside a parcel. OMG, is that a drug deal going down? Who do I call? Why are they on drugs? My mind will build scenarios over most things I see. I can usually piece something together. Even if I never use them in a story, it’s good to write all my crazy thoughts down.

Oh, I also have a new header for my writing pages. I have the same but different for my newsletter.
Thanks for reading. And remember, you can contact me on [email protected]

I will be sending out invites via my Rosie Miles Facebook page to sign up for my newsletter. As soon as I get my webpage sorted.
